I am Matthew Sheremeta, a passionate storyteller from Albany, New York.
I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism at Syracuse University. I am a proud alumnus of Oswego State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Media and Communications.
While attending Syracuse University, I was an MMJ for NCC News. I also served as a sports reporter for the Newhouse Sports Media Center and The NewsHouse.
At Oswego State, I anchored sports weekly for the student-run news station WTOP-10 TV. I gathered footage and shared stories from local high schools in Oswego and Onondaga counties. I was also the station’s assistant original productions director and director of creative control during my senior year. I was highly versatile for our live sports department, working as a studio host, analyst, sideline reporter, and play-by-play announcer. When I wasn’t on the mic, I was the technical director for the 2024 white-out broadcast and a producer for the 2024 NCAA tournament hosted at Oswego State. I was a radio DJ for the alternative music show “The Snowball Effect” on WNYO.
I have been interning with The Lead Sports Media since September 2025, writing weekly stories that cover top storylines and provide critical analysis of the New York Giants and Brooklyn Nets.
I am a highly adaptable and dedicated leader. I enjoy coaching youth baseball and girls’ basketball. I also have experience as a one-on-one special education teacher and mentor.
I am into fashion, music, and film. I love to travel, attend concerts, and run.
